To salute the accomplishments of America's working women, the
Ely Business and Professional Women's Club will celebrate
National l',usimwss t, Vomen's Week, Oclober 21-27. Part of the
nationwide observance of National Business Women's Week, was
organized by the National Federation of Business and Professioual
Women's Clubs, Inc. and held annually since 1928. The week gives
the nation the opportunity to honor the contributions made by
working women, wbo make up 4O per cent of the total national
working force.
President Richard Nixon said of National Business Women's
Week: "'this week's observance appropriately sets aside a time
during which all Americans are urged to reflect with pride on
American women's role in the progress and well-being of our
society"
