The fact that a mechanic is certified by the National
Institute for Automotive Service Excellence means that he
has demonstrated a high level of competency and skills in the
service areas indicated.
OO0
The certified mechanic has proved he is a professional. He
has been willing to take and was able to pass one or more
tough written examinations administered by a world-renown-
ed, independent testing organization. The fact that he has
beeh certified as a General Automobile Mechanic or in one or
more specific service areas means that he is ready and able to
diagnose and repair most of your car problems.
The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence
certification tests should not be underrated.
A CUT O ABOVE THE
What's the reason for a mechanic to become certified?
Several, but among the most important is the need for each '
mechanic to prove to himself, to his employer and to the
service customer that he is qualified to perform repair work
on today's automobiles. This can help avoid some of the
criticism the auto service business has long been getting. It
can also help the industry.to regulate itself and avoid the
possibility of political regulation by government agencies.
